Ready Set Dance

and Ready Set Ballet

READY SET DANCE is a combo class of JAZZ, TAP, HIP HOP, SINGING and MUSIC. Designed for both boys and girls, the program focuses on teaching the fundamentals of dance while developing confidence, coordination and creativity in a professional and safe environment.

READY SET BALLET is a magical ballet experience for 2- 5 year olds. Twirl our mascot will lead our little dancers through each step of the class as they learn the fundamentals of ballet.

Classical Ballet

Classical ballet is renowned for its artistic beauty, its strong technique, and the importance it plays as a somewhat disciplined foundation for several other dance genres. Under the ATOD Classical Ballet program, we introduce and teach this comprehensive and beautiful syllabus to our students via an anatomical approach. Our aim is to progressively develop both our students’ technical skills and theoretical knowledge, whilst encouraging confidence, enjoyment and socialisation during every ballet class. In this environment students will reach their full potential, whether in a recreational, professional or teaching level.

Jazz

Jazz is a continually changing and evolving genre encompassing many styles such as Broadway, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, Funk and Lyrical to name a few. At Barrick Dance Centre, we focus on building strength, energy and attack with the aid of the ATOD Jazz Moves syllabus. Preparatory syllabus classes for younger students enhance development of individual expression, creativity and body awareness in an upbeat and socially enjoyable environment. Older students are also actively encouraged to reach their full potential within this environment where they discover creativity through individual improvisation and choreographic skills.

Tap

Combine your love of dance, music and performance with fun and noise together in our Tap classes. Our ATOD tap syllabus is traditionally technically based yet encompasses an energized modern tap syllabus. Barrick Dance Centre ensures an enthusiastic focus on the development and continuity of technical and performance tapping techniques that are suitable for providing learning for students of all ages.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop is a fun and energetic discipline of ‘street dance’ that combines a broad variety of modern dance styles performed to hip hop music with a strong influence on encouraging students to let their personalities shine. Under the ATOD syllabus, Barrick Dance Centre approaches the teaching of this popular genre with a focus on correct technique via body placement and alignment, whilst simultaneously allowing teachers and students the freedom for personal interpretation of these movements. Such a progressive approach enhances individual creativity for participants via the development of the choreographic and improvisational performance skills employed throughout.

Contemporary

Contemporary dance today is a style of progressive dance that combines and develops elements of several dance genres including up tempo jazz, lyrical and classical ballet that have over time evolved across a wide range of cultures. Barrick Dance Centre offers contemporary dance training which is supported by the innovative and well-structured ATOD program, designed to technically develop students via exercise and movement to their full potential, whether for fun, professional work or teaching. It is this genre of dance with its distinctive technical aspects that most encourages individuality and uniqueness in both student performance and choreography skills.

Acrobatic Arts

Flip, fly, fold and freeze with our newest addition to the studio. Introducing Acrobatic arts, the beautiful fusion of classic dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. Acro technique includes balancing, limbering, tumbling and partnering, based in flexibility, contortion and strength. Barrick Dance Centre is the only qualified Acrobatic Arts studio in the Redlands with 3 Acrobatic Arts instructors, as we strive to create versatile dancers for industry success.
